CWS, Inc. Teams Up With Rochester Public Schools For Sports Marketing Trip

Several community leaders have come together to send Sports and Entertainment Marketing students on a trip to the Twin Cities. On May 13, 2019 high school students from John Marshall and Mayo will be visiting Target Field and U.S. Bank Stadium to meet with the marketing teams of each. Students will be learning more about careers in sports marketing and what it takes to be a successful marketing team.

John Marshall business educator, Mike Hutchins, reached out to area businesses for support in offsetting some of the trip's cost. After adding up the costs of tickets and bus rental, Hutchins felt it important to make the trip more affordable for all of the students.

His call was answered by CWS, Inc. and the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. Alan De Keyrel, CWS, Inc. president and founder, challenged the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce to match his company’s contribution.

The Chamber was quick to respond and provided matching funds. “Part of the Chamber’s mission is to ensure employers have access to talented and skilled employees,” commented Matt Bissonette, vice president of the Chamber. “This field trip will help students develop those skills and we are proud to partner with CWS to help make this experience possible.”

CWS, Inc. account strategist and avid member of the Chamber of Commerce, Sunny Prabhakar, explains "CWS feels it’s important to provide these opportunities to all students and if our small contribution can help just one teenager find their passion, it is more than worth it.”

Sunny, a Mayo High School graduate himself, believes it's these types of partnerships that will foster growth and move Rochester forward. CWS, Inc. team members have volunteered their time to the community's young adults in the past by speaking about career exploration in classrooms. Through these opportunities, Sunny and others have seen how much passion teachers like Hutchinson have for educating.

Sunny explains, "One reason we’re [CWS, Inc.] helping to sponsor this trip is to support the incredible teachers involved… I’ve seen first-hand how much they truly care about the kids."

From CWS, Inc.
Our team is grateful for dedicated educators taking the initiative to give students new and exciting learning opportunities. We'd also like to thank the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce for bringing local businesses and educators together for the good of our students.
