Achieving Online Form Results - Location Matters!

Donate Form YMCA

Online forms are a means to giving to causes that matter. An online form must be find-able to be effective. With many organizations and charities seeking donations, it can be easy to get lost in the crowd. Sometimes, a minor relocation can make it easier for people to give.

“Donors were having a hard time finding our giving page on givemn.org,” said Sarah Brandt, Communications / Development Director at the Rochester Area Family Y. “Now we can direct them to our home page for a chance to double their donations.”

Providing a way for donors to give via GiveMN.org is especially important for the Rochester Area Family Y during the March Million campaign. Every donation made to the Y through the GiveMN.org form is entered into a daily drawing for $1,000 additional donation given by the Otto Bremer Foundation. On March 31, one donation will be randomly drawn from all March Millions donations to receive a $10,000 Bremer Boost prize grant.

GiveMN.org handles donations. They also provide tools to place or embed items on your site like donation buttons, charts, and forms,” said Joe Milbach, CWS Web Developer. “I embedded the form on the YMCA site and styled it so that it would be responsive and blend with the YMCA brand standards. The text to the left is a standard edit region that can be updated with verbiage to highlight and support filling out the form and donating.”

On Tuesday, March 3rd, the form was embedded on the YMCA’s homepage. By that same afternoon the Y had received $1,000 through its embedded form.

The YMCA helps children and their parents with memberships and offers them fun sports, programs and other healthy bonding activities. With the obesity epidemic hitting home right here in Olmsted County, 64% of adults are overweight with 28% being obese, the need for programs for healthy living is greater than ever. Financial stress is also a factor in Olmsted County with 26% of adults having had a time in the last year when they did not know if they would be able to pay one or any of their bills. At the YMCA, children and adults are able to participate even if they live on limited means, because of assistance from the Y’s Open Doors Scholarship program.
