3 Marketing Campaigns That Cannot Be Ignored

At CWS, it is important for our team to keep our eye on current marketing campaigns, study their elements and learn what people are (or are not) connecting with. Shared through our company through our morning meeting videos, sparking laughter, intrigue, and all kinds of fuzzy feelings, here are 3 marketing campaigns that cannot be ignored.

Ron Burgundy

It is becoming nearly impossible in the past few months to go anywhere without hearing or seeing Ron Burgundy. Star of Anchorman, Burgundy has been on a marketing campaign trail for several months. First appearing in a number of Dodge Durango advertisements and more recently was a star co-host in a local Bismarck, North Dakota news station.

Burgundy has created a lot of buzz online, but we will find out how truly effective his campaign was when Anchorman 2 is released on December 18th.

Coca Cola Small World Machine

Back in June, Coca Cola unleashed a number of amazing YouTube adverts. From the Coca Cola Share Can, to “The Happiness Machine”, and their lost wallet campaign, Coca Cola has been warming our hearts all year.

Perhaps one of the most powerful videos they have put together is the Coca Cola Small World Machine. Putting one machine in India and the other in Pakistan, the two machines are linked via webcam. Although the two countries are right next to each other, neither side has spoken to the other in years. Through this small world machine, not only did Coca Cola connect the 2 countries, but guided their interaction by joining hands, waving at one another, and dancing together.

Heineken “Dropped”

6 months ago Heineken asked for volunteers to be “dropped” all over the world. From there they were given challenges such as carrying a block of ice across a desert, traveling handcuffed to another person, or riding a wooden duck down a river.

In the form of an unscripted reality television show, fans cheered for their favorite characters. Laced with humor, this 5 episode series gained millions of a views within only a few months.
