RST & Allegiant Air Use Social Media to Enhance Their Event

Using social media to promote your event is a great way to get buzz before, during and after the event. With some advanced planning you can also use social media for prize registrations and to enter contests during the event. The Rochester International Airport (RST) and Allegiant Air will be a great example of this when they hold their “Vote for Vacation” kick‐off.

The Allegiant Tour Bus arrives in town on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 6am‐10am in the Peace Plaza in downtown Rochester. The CWS digital marketing team will be on hand to help people register for prizes and free parking passes through RST’s digital Facebook environment.

Social media is a great outlet for marketing events; both leading up to and during the actual event. Posting pictures during the event gives procrastinators one more opportunity to attend or at the very least, allows you to share your event virtually with those who were unable to get there.

Vote for Vacation is a FREE event and will celebrate Allegiant offering direct flights from the Rochester International Airport (RST) to the Phoenix‐Mesa Gateway Airport. On this day, Sept. 11, it is particularly important to appreciate that we have the freedom to travel and vacation because of those who sacrifice to keep our country safe and secure.

Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede will speak and lead us in a moment of silence at 7:46am as the Bell of Honor is tolled for those who lost their lives on this tragic day. Police, fire, EMT and Veterans from the Soldier’s Field Veterans Memorial will be in attendance as well.

This event will be full of activities, prizes and big giveaways: including free airline tickets and a chance to win FREE AIRFARE FOR 4 YEARS. There will be a live radio cut-ins from the event from 6am – 8am with KWWK Quick Country, who will also have prizes to give away to those attending.

Come on down to the Peace Plaza and join us. If you can’t be there, follow it on Facebook. (But then, you would miss out on the free coffee.)
