Launch: Spare Key Website

Spare Key, based out of Bloomington, MN, provides assistance to Minnesota homeowners with critically ill or seriously injured children by making a mortgage payment on the family’s behalf, allowing them to spend time with their child.

Spare Key wanted a new look for their web environment and better functionality to meet the organization's priorities. CWS Web Designer, Joe Milbach, developed a more professional look that could still deliver a homey feel. He did this with the use of color, primarily blue, and a design that appeared to have a fabric texture.

Spare Key's goal: To offer the user 3 primary options to explore when they arrive at the site. Those 3 priorities are to learn; What Spare Key Provides, How a Family Can Receive Help and How People Can Give.

The donation process was greatly simplified and made more prominent, both through call outs and alternative ways to get to the "give" page.

Other wishes included; simplifying the home page, including video from a feature segment from The Oprah Winfrey Show, integrating their blog/newsletter and creating a prominent sign up for the newsletter. Social media tools with links were also added to the website.

Joe built a Monster Footer at the bottom that provides great access to the options for involvement and promotes upcoming fund raising events.

Congratulations to Spare Key on the launch of their new website!
