The Old Market Deli-Capitalizes on Presidential Visit

Cannon Falls, a community of about 5,000 people midway between Rochester, MN and St. Paul, MN on the Highway 52 corridor was quickly and unexpectedly thrust into the International spotlight on August 15th when President Obama made it a point to stop in the thriving community to give a speech. In front of the beautiful backdrop of the Cannon River, Cannon Falls proved to the world that they can entertain, even the most important individuals, when opportunity comes a knocking.

Just ask Gary Tournier. Gary owns "The Old Market Deli" in Cannon Falls. Can you imagine what was going thru Gary’s mind when he was told that the President was going to have lunch inside his deli? Instead of panicking, Gary and his crew decided to take advantage of this unbelievable opportunity and the deli did not disappoint. Everything went as planned and the President, along with his entourage, had a fantastic lunch at "The Old Market Deli."However, what is most impressive is how Gary and his team capitalized on the President’s visit after the fact. With the help of CWS, Gary wasted no time revamping his deli website in an effort to visually show the public what transpired at his deli that day. At the same time, Gary has posted many of his event photos on their new website AND on his FACEBOOK page. He even went as far as to name the sandwich after the President (‘The Presidential’) and has set aside for the public the chair and table that the President sat at for his meal.

The moral of the story is this. When opportunity presents itself, no matter how big or small, take advantage of it and don’t waste time. Nice job Gary and "The Old Market Deli!"
