PR Client: Experience 46 Acres of Living History at the Days of Yesteryear

CWS is pleased to be helping the History Center of Olmsted County create wider awareness and promotion about several of their signature events. The first of the events is the upcoming Days of Yesteryear- August 14-15. For more then three decades, people have flocked to an outdoor festival in Rochester to preserve and celebrate the region's agricultural heritage. The celebration of the history and the rural life is sponsored by the History Center of Olmsted County in conjunction with the Mechanical History Roundtable.

The two-day festival has been expanded to include live music and dance, a local artisan and craft sale, historic displays and reenactments, period theatrical performances--including stage performances and traveling medicine show, and hands-on mechanical exhibits. Also included is a wide range of children's activities, a petting zoo, pony rides and an 1850's carnival.

MHRT_2010_Show_Logo-291x275New to this year's event will be the lively, historic, mechanical music of the Minnesota Chapter of the Musical Box Society International. Scattered throughout the festival grounds, music boxes ranging from handheld to cargo trailer size will fill the air with celebration.

The event opens daily at 9:00 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission is $7 at the gate and children 16 and under are FREE! Price of admission includes all activities and displays. Parking is FREE and shuttle services will be available at Autumn Ridge Church and Salem Covenant Church, just west of the History Center on County Road 25/Salem Road.

Proceeds from the event will help support the History Center of Olmsted County's mission to: "Give people of all ages and backgrounds access and opportunities to learn about the past through research, publications, interpretive exhibits, programs and events."
