Meet CWS: Sarah Flatness

Tell us what you're busy doing at CWS: I am a Project Manager intern and have been working closely with Jonny and Alex, the other Project Managers at CWS. I am learning about the inner workings of various projects and tasks and what it takes to create something that clients will love.

Describe Yourself Using One Word: Advocate

Hometown: Riceville, IA

Family: My husband, Scott, and I have been been married for 7 years. My mom and dad still live in the same house that my older sister, brother and I grew up in. I have two nieces, a nephew and a new niece or nephew that will be born in the next few days!

Hobbies/Interests: I have many hobbies/interests and sometimes it’s difficult to decide what to do! I am a very strong supporter of nonprofit organizations and volunteer as much as I can when I have time. I also like planning parties/events. I am usually in the midst of planning some upcoming event.

Favorite Sports Team(s): Sports? What’s that? I am actually not a big sports fan. I would rather go to concerts or other musical performances.

Famous Person You'd Like to Meet: I have a famous person dinner wish list. If I could invite anyone over for dinner, it would be Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins, and authors Andrew Solomon and David Sedaris. It would be an eclectic mix but would be extremely entertaining.

Something You'd Like to Learn to Do: I bought a violin years ago and started taking lessons but stopped a few months in. One of these days, I will make enough time to truly learn how to play it.

Favorite Website: Pinterest would probably be my favorite right now. The search possibilities are endless- Clothing, recipes and home decor ideas!

Favorite Travel Destination: I loved Savannah, GA when I was there a few years ago. There is something about the city that is very interesting and electric.

Last "Gadget" You Purchased: I don’t know if this is classified as a “gadget”, but I recently purchased a new laptop.

Favorite Book: I don’t think I would be able to choose one favorite book but a few of my favorite authors are David Sedaris, Christopher Rice, and Ken Follett.

Favorite Food: I would say sushi is my favorite. Rochester has definitely stepped up its sushi game in the past few years. If you like basic or if you are in the mood for more authentic, there is something for everyone.

Favorite Movie: This is a tough one. I love a variety of movies but if I had to choose I would say It’s a Wonderful Life. Even though it is based during the holiday season, the lessons from the film transcend seasons and time.
