Launching around the same time as Facebook’s recent layout redesign, Twitter is hopping on the bandwagon. Creating a user experience, similar to Facebook, user’s reaction range from ecstatic to livid.
Starting a new Twitter profile just this month, I was able to be one of the first users to experience Twitter’s new redesigned profile.
Cover Photo
One of the first things you’ll notice about the redesign is the added feature of the cover photo. Much larger than Facebook’s cover photo, users can post images as long as 1,500 pixels and 500 pixels high (That’s huge!)
Profile Info
Name, Twitter handle, personal bio, and location have moved from the original cover photo area to the left of the page, making them more noticeable to other users. Below your profile information features all recent photos you have uploaded.
Tweet Feed
Perhaps the best feature, in my opinion, is the look of each tweet on your profile. Increasing the size of each tweet and putting more focus on images, each post is more appealing to the eye than the original layout.
Conclusion
There are a few tweaks Twitter will have to work on and they are yet to release a new look for the notifications, discover, or home tabs. There is still no word if their mobile app will be updated at this point in time.
Personally, the new redesign has got me using Twitter again. If, in the past, you were confused when using Twitter, I recommend giving it a second chance.
