If you had a week to kick-start or turn around your marketing, what would you do?
Well, here are some pointers. They might not all be right for you, but they should definitely make you think, and there might well be a few surprises...
First of all, if the clock was ticking, I'd get social. Social media is really becoming one of the biggest ways to explode your company's profile online. You know what I'm talking about. Facebook, MySpace and so on. There are a hundred of these portals out there and millions are using them. But how do you make best use of them as a business?
Well, get on MySpace, and add Digg, Delicious, and Reddit buttons to the site. This will get everyone else out there talking about you and spreading the word about your products.
Then get even more social and, while you are planning an event or contest (you do this, right?) around your company, invite everyone in your MySpace and FaceBook friends list. Connect the real world to the virtual and have a party. This is networking on the edge of things.
Get on LinkedIn and develop a profile for your company. Then make sure that when you are contacted and people start making connections with you, that you follow through, join in on discussions, and basically use this very powerful network to, well, network.
And the final idea, and perhaps the craziest (but it does work) is to join Second Life. Create an Avatar here and make your business live online. Many are doing it, and at the very, very least, it is creating advertising revenue. The game already has it's first real life millionaire.
Those are a few pointers, take time to investigate them to find they may be beneficial to your business.
